Course Description: 

Writing: Enjoy a fun approach to writing through a variety of genres. Students will get to know stories while participating in a variety of games to teach vocabulary, reinforce elements of style, and add to the fun! Students will be introduced to new concepts in class and assigned homework in order to develop their writing skills. We will incorporate some literature based writing, creative writing, research, poetry, and more!

Literature: Students will be immersed in quality literature through chapter books. They will complete various books and comprehension assignments as well as hands-on fun activities, literature circles, and projects to reinforce the content being covered in literature for the year. As stated above, we will also be introducing some creative writing and literature based writing that incorporates the books we're reading for class.

Classroom Work: Instruction, games, project collaboration, discussion

Homework: Reading literature, worksheets, projects, writing assignments
