Required Textbooks: BJU Press Physical Science, 6th editionBJU Physical Science Student Lab Manual 6th edition, and Physical Science Assessments, 6th edition

Course Description: Physical Science is a hands-on study of the building blocks of God’s amazing creation. Students will explore introductory concepts in both chemistry and physics including matter, atomic structure, chemical reactions, motion, forces, and energy. Weekly lab activities will immerse students in the scientific process, fostering engineering and problem-solving skills through experimentation, data analysis, and model construction. Case studies and ethics discussions will further encourage students to think critically and view science through a biblical lens, deepening their appreciation of the Creator’s design.

Classroom Work: Class time will be spent almost exclusively completing the labs for this course.

Homework:  Daily homework will include reading the text and answering questions. There will also be occasional videos to watch or mini labs to complete. Tests and quizzes will be taken at home.

Time Expectations: 1hr. Daily.

Lab fees: A required lab fee of $150 will be collected at registration. 

Prerequisites: Students enrolling in Physical Science must have completed or simultaneously be enrolled in an Algebra I course.
